Orientation Rides
To fly Civil Air Patrol cadets or AFROTC cadets on orientation rides pilots must hold 200 or 300 hours PIC respectively, pass relevant modules in AXIS, be a VFR pilot and be appointed as an orientation pilot by a CAP Check Pilot which often occurs during your VFR Pilot check ride known as the 'Form 5'.
You can learn more about Orientation Rides in Civil Air Patrol in CAPP60-40, in eServices under 'what do I need' and by speaking with your local check pilots.
